Model description for Chubb Castelle:

The Castelle Safe

Designed to meet the need for a compact high security Safe for residential and business use. The Castelle is attractive, unobtrusive and offers discreet protection to valuable possessions in almost any situation. It is a result of Chubb's continuous policy of developing new products and materials to combat crime. Incorporated in the Castelle is our highly successful Chubb TDR (Torch and Drill Resistant) material.

This material, allied to Chubb locking and boltwork, means that your valuables are protected against force, drilling, explosives and oxygen-cutting attacks.Chubb have been successfully protecting people and possessions for over 150 years. With that behind us, you can be sure we know our business. With the Castelle behind you–you can safely attend to yours.

Although the Castelle is small, primarily being designed for domestic and office use, it gives a very high standard of protection for cash and jewellery.

The Body
A nominal 51 mm monolith of TDR is cast to a 10 mm inner bell. The outer surfaces are covered with 5 mm thick steel, securely welded in position, giving the Safe an all-over uniform strength.

The Door
As the door is usually the first area of attack, the Castelle Safe has an impressive overall thickness, including the boltwork and lockcase, of 127 mm. It is constructed from outer and inner steel plates, continuously welded to form a single structure enclosing a solid layer of TDR. This gives a total barrier thickness of 76 mm.

The Boltwork
Chubb locks are famous throughout the World for their precision engineering and high degree of security.

Forming an integral part of the door, the lockcase is fitted with six 32 mm diameter moving bolts and these engage directly into bolt cups which are securely welded to the body at the bottom and top edges of the door.

As a standard feature, there is a re-locking device which is on guard against explosive attack as soon as the Safe is locked.

The Lock
The boltwork is secured by a Chubb 7 lever Keylock supplied with two stainless steel detachable-bitted keys. Alternatively, the Safe can be supplied fitted with a Chubb 4-wheel Combination Lock

Appearance
The Castelle Safe is extremely attractive in design and finish. The standard dark grey enamel paint ideally complements the stainless steel panel and Satin Chrome plated door furniture ensuring a place for the Castelle in any surroundings.

Fixing
Being relatively light, it is essential that the base of the Safe is fixed to the floor. This is achieved by fixing the anchor plate to a concrete or wooden floor, using current Chubb recommended floor fixing instructions. 2.12 mm diameter bolts then secure the Safe to the anchor plate, making it almost impossible to be moved.

Chubb are always happy to advise upon the siting and installation of their equipment and we can provide skilled Chubb Service and Installation personnel throughout the United Kingdom to carry out this work.
