CHUBB DOMESTIC ANTI-BLOWPIPE DOOR The Door is 7" thick. The solid door slab is 2 3/4," thick, increased to protection in front of the lock. The door consists of an outer plate of 1/2" Siemens steel and an inner plate of Siemens steel : these are electrically welded to continuous rimming at the edges of the plates. In the 1 1/4" space between the two Siemens steel plates there is a slab of Chubb Alloy covering the whole area of the lock and bolt mechanism and thus protecting the vital and vulnerable parts. This alloy is absolutely undrillable, offers great resistance to the oxy-acetylene blowpipe and is, moreover impervious to any known cutting tool. The lock and bolt chamber is formed with continuous rimming, is electrically welded to the door slab, no rivets or screwing used used. The Chubb Certified Fire Resisting material is incorporated in the door.
BOLTWORK There are three 1 1/2" diameter sliding bolts of bright drawn steel at the front edge, and three fixed bolts at thehinged side the door, and all engage behind the rebates of the body frame.LOCKING The bolt throwing mechanism is operated by a lever handle rid secured by a Chubb 7-lever lock with patent Monitor action which ensures that the Safe is always left properly locked. The lock has duplicate steel detachable-bitted keys and only the end which actuates the lock is carried by the owner. There is an emergency securing device which, being always on guard, automatically relocks the door it attack is made by the blowpipe or if the lock is dislodged by explosives or an other means.FRAME The frame is a one-piece section electrically welded to the body and the door is hung in it on hardened steel cranked pivots, working in hardened steel cups, which are electrically welded to the body.BODY There is an outer plate of 3/8" Siemens steel. A special 12-bend construction is used, and the corner plates and back plates are welded solid. Covering and protecting the whole of the inside area is 1" of Chubb Alloy possessing the same high qualities and properties that used in the door. The space between the Chubb Alloy and the inner lining is packed with Chubb Certified Fire Resisting Material.FIRE PROTECTION The Chubb Certified Fire Resisting material used, which was originally devised as a result of a series of exhaustive experiments, has been subjected to many public tests. It has been proved in a large number of actual fires culminating in the unparalleled conditions of the blitz. FITTINGS One adjustable shelf is supplied as standard, but other fittings can he added.FINISH Body is painted dark grey, door in light grey with plastic covered handles.
