Model description for Chubb TDR Coffer:

CHUBB TDR COFFER

Burglary techniques advance rapidly these days. Many who invested in safe equipment of high quality a few years ago, now find their equipment might not stand up to the most severe attacks of today. The Chubb TDR Coffer has been designed to fit inside an existing safe so as to provide a safe within a safe. Once fitted it cannot possibly be removed without destroying the safe around it. Thus it becomes a second line of defence-a defence far stronger than its outer protection.

Many modern offices only have a small volume of cash to protect whereas they have a large volume of records needing adequate protection against fire. The demands of fire protection and burglary protection are conflicting. To keep out the burglar metal in quantity is required. To keep out fire as little metal as possible consistent with strength should be used because of its ability to conduct heat rapidly. The most effective way of combining the two forms of protection is to have a tested and certified fire resisting cabinet with a burglar resisting coffer fitted inside.

SPECIFICATION

Door
The overall thickness of the door is 5" (127mm). Rectangular in form, it is constructed from outer and inner plates of steel, continuously welded to form a single structure, enclosing a solid layer of Chubb Torch and Drill Resisting Material to produce a total metal thickness of 3" (76mm). Chubb Torch and Drill Resisting Material offers great resistance to all forms of oxygen cutting apparatus as well as drills and cutting tools.

Body
The coffer body is of uniform strength, being a 2" (51 mm) monolith of Chubb torch and drill resisting material. The face and top of the coffer (the exposed surfaces when it is fitted inside another unit) are covered with a layer of steel.

Boltwork
The lock-case, an integral part of the door, is fitted at top and bottom with steel sliding bolts. Six steel bolts engage directly into the rebate in the formed body of the coffer. Three of these bolts are fitted to the top edge of the door and three to the lower edge of the door.

Locking
The world-famous 7-lever Chubb lock with detachable-bitted stainless steel keys in duplicate secures the locking mechanism. Alternative locking can be arranged. In particular this can be effected by a Chubb 4-wheel keyless combination lock capable of 100,000,000 changes of code. As a result of wide experience gained from the use of explosives in opening security equipment, Chubb have introduced a new form of locking mechanism which is specially designed to resist the explosive attack.

An emergency relocking device is an important component of the locking mechanism. Each and every time the safe is locked, the emergency relocking device is automatically on guard. The nature of its design embraces the vital part of the locking mechanism, providing an additional security feature against the known forms of attack.

Finish
A high finish is achieved by the use of top quality enamels throughout, with the exception of stainless steel panel plate and satin chrome furniture.

Fixing
The Chubb TDR Coffer can be fitted into any Chubb safe or fire-resisting cabinet with an internal width of 219mm or more. The Chubb safe or fire-resisting cabinet can be supplied already fitted with the Chubb TDR Coffer or these coffers can be fitted subsequently on site.

The fixing of the Chubb TDR Coffer in another unit is effected in a simple manner which ensures that the coffer cannot be removed without the destruction of the unit surrounding the coffer.
