Model description for SMP Hotel MK2:
HOTEL SAFES
Your guests will appreciate the convenience of this private and easy to use form of room security. With an SMP Hotel Safe installed your guests will no longer need to make repeated visits to the hotel foyer or security vaults to deposit or redeem their valuables. You will also save costly management time previously spent on assisting guests.
The prestige of your hotel will be enhanced by this major facility.
The introduction of hotel room safes has been shown to reduce claims for theft which in turn reduces insurance premiums. Guests and staff enjoy improved relationships with fewer accusations or suspicions of theft.
The Hotel Mini Safe is smaller than the SMP Hotel Safe, but built to the same high specifications.
Digital locking system
Using a menu driven operating system, the security management are able to control the use of the safe at all times by entering instructions via the keypad. Guests could use the safe as part of the hotel service, or a small charge could be levied - which would quickly recover the cost of the original installation.
Once in their hotel room the guests are able to program a code of their choice. The length of this personal code is pre-set by the hotel management to be either 4 or 6 digits. To unlock the safe the guest then enters the same pre-programmed code. Anyone entering an incorrect code three times in succession triggers an automatic lock-out for a period of 15 minutes. This prevents criminals from opening the safe by systematically working through the combinations of numbers available.
SMP Security Limited consider that battery powered electronics have a distinct advantage over mains powered systems. lf the mains power source is cut off, it causes a system failure and consequent malfunctions.
"Blok-Lok" system
SMP Hotel Safes are also available fitted with the "Blok-Lok" security system.
With this system, each guest wanting to use a safe is issued with a block and key. The block fits into the safe door and is locked in place by the key, which can then be removed.
On checking out, the guest returns the key and block to reception. Although each block has its own key, any block will fit any safe. This makes for easy administration without a loss of security.
Safe Body
The safe body is constructed from B.S.4360-43A High Grade Steel which is electrically welded to form a solid unit. The protective thickness of the steel body is 1.57mm which is further strengthened by steel plates of 3.17mm thickness welded to the outer skin creating a construction of durability and resistant to attacks from criminals.
Bolt Work
The bolt work operates two moving bolts of 19mm diameter with an extended throw of 25mm ensuring maximum engagement and security when the unit is locked. The dogging plate secures the inner edge of the door to the body and runs the full length of the door. The boltwork is locked by a high quality electromagnetic mechanism which has isolator boltwork functions. This prevents any criminal force being applied to the boltwork for purpose of illegal entering.
Door
The outer steel door plate is 5mm thick to B.S.4360-43A mild steel. The overall door thickness is 62mm.
Floor anchoring
All safes have provision for anchoring to either wood or concrete floors. The rear section of the safe is strengthened to allow for back fixing facilities, if required.
