Model description for Stratford Service:
STRATFORD SERVICE SAFES
The Stratford Service Safe has been designed with the multiple retail branch, and the typical office user in mind. It resists attack by explosives, force and other means. The door of the safe is drill resistant over the whole surface. The double bitted high security lock baffles picking and has keys which are extremely difficult to copy. The safe is made in three sizes and a useful range of interior fittings is available. The safe offers first class fire protection.
BODY
Robust twelve bent electrically welded construction with minimum radius corners to preclude weakness. Body incorporates double inner lining giving total of over 5/16" steel thickness encased in afire-resisting anti-penetration monolith. Body opening reinforced by heavy channel to resist leverage.
DOOR
Unique new design (patents applied for) incorporates protection against explosives and other prevalent methods of attack. Over 1" thickness of steel and special drill-resisting alloy covers the whole surface of the door. Should the main lock(s) of the safe be attacked by explosives, a special device secures the boltwork. This device is of the "live" type and is automatically in operation whenever the safe is locked.
LOCKING
The door of the safe is normally secured by one nine-lever high-precision security keylock with "double-bitted" keys in duplicate. Optional extras: additional keylock for dual control or combination lock in lieu of or in addition to keylock. Additional keys can only be supplied by copying originals.
INTERIOR FITTINGS
A variety of drawers, shelves etc. is available as detailed below.
ANCHORING
It is strongly recommended that the safe should be firmly anchored into concrete. For this purpose special anchor lugs are available at slight extra cost and all safes are equipped with anchor lug housings in the base. Alternative arrangements are available for securing to wooden floor.
FINISH
The Service Safe is handsomely finished in grey hammer gloss enamel with chrome handle and keyhole cover.
Service Security Deposit Safes
This version of the Service Security is designed for the deposit and safe housing of cash brought in after normal office hours. A heavy duty deposit drawer forms an integral part of the body of the safe. Wallets or other semi-rigid packages of cash placed, in this drawer unit are dropped into the safe as the drawer is closed. Once deposited, they can only be retrieved by opening the main door of the safe which is under the control of the keyholder.
In addition to the multiple relocking devices on the safe door, a special security mechanism is fitted to seal the aperture into the safe body in the event of an attack on the deposit drawer.
The deposit drawer can be supplied (a) facing forwards over the safe door, (b) facing back-wards so that deposits are made from the rear of the safe. In position (b) the drawer can be ex-tended 5" to pass through a single brick wall thickness so that deposits can be made from outside whilst the safe itself is located within the office.
Interior dimensions are as the size 2314 safe but the deposit facility increases the weight of the Service Security Deposit Safe to approx. 11 1/2 cwt. (585 Kg.).
Body: Robust twelve bent, electrically welded construction incorporating a fire-resisting and anti-penetration monolith which encases a heavy steel inner body. Body opening reinforced by steel channel to resist leverage. Protective body thickness 3".
Door: Incorporates over 1" thickness of steel and special drill and blowtorch resistant alloy over the whole surface of the door plus additional steel mount plate over lock area. Live re-locking device, always on guard, secures three-way sliding bolts in event of attack by explosives or other prevalent methods of attack. Fixed dog bolts on hinge side of door. Number of bolts varies according to size of safe.
Locking Mechanism: Standard locking is by one nine lever keylock with double-bitted keys supplied in duplicate. Additional keylocks or three-wheel combination lock can be fitted as optional extras. The lock is mounted on a sensitive plate which, responds to any form of attack in the lock area, and actuates one or more re-locking devices (whose position can be varied).
A live relocking device, always on guard, is set each time the safe is locked to secure boltwork in the locked position should the main lock be disturbed by explosives or other means. An extra thermal relocking device operates should heat be applied to the safe door by a flame cutting attack.
Anchoring: Facilities for floor anchoring are provided within each Service Security safe as standard on all three sizes. Customers are strongly recommended to anchor safes against removal by thieves.
