All your most confidential documents and valuables will be protected in the Duplex Minor or Major Safes which have proved their efficiency by the number of unsuccessful attacks made on them and are now even stronger than before.

SPECIFICATION

BODY
The outer and inner bodies of this safe are constructed of best open hearth steel plates with a total thickness of 9/16″ (14.3 mm.). The space between the outer and inner bodies is filled with improved fire-resisting composition.

DOOR
The total thickness of the door is 5 1/16″ (128.6 mm.). The minimum thickness over the lock mechanism is 1 3/8″ (34.9 mm.) including a layer of manganese steel 3/16″ (4.8 mm.) thick for protection against cutting tools. The door is designed to resist explosives and forcing tools, and incorporates a fire-resisting chamber.

FASTENINGS
The door is securely held in its seating by five sliding round steel bolts, three at the front 1 3/8″ (34.9 mm.) in diameter and one each at top and bottom, 1″ (25.4 mm.) diameter. The bands and centres forming the hinges are entirely concealed and when the door is closed it is not possible to discover whether the door is hung left-handed or right-handed.

DOOR CHAMBER
The door chamber of this safe is an integral part of the door.

LOCKING
The sliding bolts are normally controlled by a best quality unpickable ten-lever double bitted key-lock with rustless keys supplied in duplicate. The following locking arrangements are also available at extra cost :
    DUPLEX MINOR
            A ‘Manifoil’ 3 Wheel Combination Lock can be fitted in place of the key lock.
            Two Keylocks.

    DUPLEX MAJOR
            One ‘Manifoil’ 3 Wheel Combination Lock in lieu of Key-lock,
            Two Keylocks,
            One Keylock and one ‘Manifoil’ Combination Lock, 
            Two ‘Manifoil’ Combination Locks.

SECONDARY LOCKING DEVICE
This is fitted to provide protection in the event of the normal locking control being disturbed by explosives, and comes into operation automatically every time the safe is locked.

INTERIOR FITTINGS
    DUPLEX MINOR
            This safe can be supplied without internal fittings or with one drawer at the bottom, having an overall height of 4 9/32″ (108.7 mm.).
    DUPLEX MAJOR
            The safe can be supplied without internal fittings or with any of the following arrangements
            (a) removable steel shelf dividing the safe into two equal compartments, each 11 3/4″ (298.5 mm.) high,
            (b) single drawer fitment,
            (c) double drawer fitment, consisting of two drawers side by side.
Drawer fitments are 4 3/4″ (120.7 mm.) high overall. When a drawer fitment is supplied, a shelf can also be fitted, dividing the space above the drawer fitment into two equal compartments each 9 3/8″ (238.1 mm.) high.

ANCHORAGE
In addition to the methods of anchorage described over-leaf, a steel plinth 12″ high is available for use with the Duplex Minor. The plinth is designed for anchorage to either wooden or concrete floors.

FINISH
The safe is painted in a pleasing shade of smoke grey with chromium plated furniture.
