Description

THE ANGLIAN Safe

The S.M.P. ANGLIAN Safe is a blend of experience in safe making offering the latest developments in materials and engineering. We present a unit that has precision and ingenuity, which combined with technical development, produces a safe with security in depth. Modern design features give resistance to OXY-ARC, EXPLOSIVE and DRILLING methods used by the modern criminal.

SPECIFICATION

Body
The outer body is constructed from 6mm. B.S. 4360-43A steel and is electrically welded by modern processes. The inner body is constructed from 6mm. steel which is closely encased on all five sides by a drill and torch resisting fabricated bell made from our new chrome-nickel alloy ‘Nichron’. Between the outer body and the D.T.R. material is an anti-penetration monolith which has a crushing strength of 11,500 p.s.i. The overall body thickness is 120mm.

Door
The door is an electrically welded monolith incorporating blowtorch and drill resisting ‘Nichron’ material, and has an overall thickness of 140mm. The door includes a main slab of 75mm, which contains two ‘Nichron’ slabs providing increased resistance to attack by giving four hardened surfaces. At key points in the door we have inserted one of the hardest known metal compounds in use today, giving 1850 VPN, or 95 Rockwell ‘A’ which is harder than any commercial tool steel and almost all ceramic materials. The Boltwork moves on three sides of the door, with bolts of 38mm. diameter EN3B steel. The boltwork locks directly into the inner lining and all bolt ends are protected by ‘Nichron’ material. Fixed Dog Bolts of 38mm. diameter steel are placed at the rear edge of the door and are also protected by Nichron’ material.

Locking
The boltwork is secured by either the SMP S520 seven Lever Keylock or a Sargent and Greenleaf 4 wheel Keyless Combination Lock. Multiple locking is available. The Keylock is of an entirely new design and has open ended, notched levers affording resistance to lock-picking. The probe arms are severally positioned across the width of the lock bolt and it is not possible to remove the lock bolt stump by drilling a single small hole.

Anti-Explosive Devices
The safe is fitted with three randomly positioned explosive devices. Each of these is non-returnable once activated and permanently locks the boltwork. The live anti-explosive device protects the boltwork every time the safe is locked. The vital parts of this device are protected by strategically positioned inserts of Cobal-Arc 4 weld metal. The Dead anti-explosive devices are connected by stainless steel (multi-strand) wire to a special glass plate which, in the event of an attack by force, drills, explosives, or oxy-acetylene will shatter and release spring loaded mechanisms. Random A.E.D. positions are adopted both for the connections to the glass plate and also the mechanisms which lock into the boltwork. The circuit of the stainless steel wire is also varied in each safe.

Thermal Device
A thermal link is included in the boltwork which in the event of the temperature in the lockcase reaching 155°F during an attack, the boltwork will become permanently locked.

Floor Anchoring
All safes have provision for anchoring to either wood or concrete floors.

Fittings/Deposit Facilities
All safes can be supplied with removable shelves, adjustable at 1/2″ (12mm.) pitch. A 3″ lockable Full- Width Drawer is available for all safes, Rotary Traps, Angled Capsule Deposit Tubes, and Drawer-Type Traps are available as optional extras.
