SMP Mercian 3 3520

Description

Mercian 3 Cash Safe

Body
The outer body is constructed from 1/8(3.17mm) B.S.4360 — 43A mild steel plate and is electrically welded to complete by modern processes. The inner body lining is also constructed from 1/8″ (3.17mm) mild steel.

Between the inner and outer sections is an anti-penetration monolith of Basalite which has a resistant crushing strength in excess of 11,500 lbs p.s.i. and contains WIRAND carbon steel fibres which are evenly distributed throughout the matrix by the use of super plasticizers.

The overall body thickness is 3 1/2″ (89mm) and both the inner and outer body sections are keyed into the protective matrix at multiple random points to ensure resistance to delamination attacks by criminals.

Door
The door is an electrically welded monolith incorporating a drill and impact resistant matrix and has an overall thickness of 4 9/16″ (117mm). The door has an overall thickness of 50mm which includes Granocrete nuggets and carbon fibres reinforced by an ALURAMIC slab 25mm thick covering locking area. The door structure is fabricated from 3/16″ (4.8mm) and 1/4″ (6.4mm) thick mild steel to B.S. 4360 – 43A specification.

At strategic protection points in the door assembly S.M.P. engineers insert one of the hardest known metal compounds in use today which gives 1850 V.P.N. or 95 Rockwell “A” resistance to drilling and cutting tools used by criminals. This compound is harder than any commercially used tool steels.

Boltwork
The boltwork operates on three sides of the door with bolts of 11/4(32mm) diameter travelling 3/4″ (20mm) into the inner lining. The bolt ends are protected by steel cups welded to the inner lining which are embedded into the Basalite matrix of the body infill. Fixed dogging bolts of 1 1/4″ (32mm) diameter protect the hinged edge of the door from wedging and explosive attacks.

Locking
The boltwork is secured by either an S.5 Willenhall Safe Lock or a Sargent and Greenleaf 3-wheel keyless Combination lock. Multiple locking is available on all unit sizes.

Anti-explosive devices
The safe is fitted with both live and dead Anti-Explosive Devices. Each of these mechanisms is non returnable once activated and permanently lock the boltwork making the safe inoperable. The Live Anti-Explosive Device further protects the safe every time the safe is locked on the actuation of the lock bolt. The vital parts of the Live A.E.D. are protected by the strategically positioned Abrasadour 46 weld deposit. The Dead Anti-Explosive Device is connected and primed by stainless steel multi strand wire and when activated in the event of an attack by force, drills or explosives or oxy-acetylene will release a spring loaded mechanism which once activated are non-returnable rendering the safe permanently locked. Random positions for the A.E.D. assemblies are adopted with various positions and every circuit of stainless steel wire is randomly selected to ensure the complete originality of all connections within the A.E.D. framework.

Thermal AED device
A randomly positioned thermal link is included in the boltwork assembly which in the event of an oxy-acetylene attack will actuate at temperatures of 160°F triggering the A.E.D. assembly rendering the safe inoperable.

Floor anchoring
All safes made at SMP have provision for anchoring to either wood or concrete floors. This operation needs to be carried out by qualified personnel from the manufacturer or his agent.

Fittings and deposit facilities
All safes can be supplied with removable shelves adjustable at 12mm pitches and self-locating clips. Lockable Full Width Drawers at 75mm deep are available for all models. Rotary Traps — Angled Deposit Tubes — Drawer Type Traps available as optional extras.
