Description

THE WESSEX GP 2 CASH SAFE

Designed and built to an executive quality having extra protective features incorporated in the door and body. This safe is for those higher risk areas where protection is required against the attack of modern criminals using explosives, drills and force.

SPECIFICATION

Body
An inner and outer body of 1/8″ (3.17mm) thick B.S. 4360-43A steel are electrically welded together enclosing a high strength anti-penetration monolith, giving an overall body thickness of 3 1/2″ (89mm). Additional resistance to drilling is provided by the inclusion of 1/8″ (3.17mm) hardened steel plates on all five sides. ‘Wirand’Carbon Steel fibres are included in the concrete monolith, and with the addition of Mild Steel sections which secure the outer body and the inner body to the concrete, this unit makes the chances of a successful de-lamination attack very remote. By the use of sophisticated super – plasticizer chemicals, as water reducing agents, compressive strengths in excess of 11,500 P.S.I. are being obtained.

Door
The door is constructed of 1/4″ (6.4mm) steel outer plate and 1/8 (3.2mm) steel inner plates enclosing a 1 3/8″ (35mm) anti-penetration monolith. A 1/4″ (6.4mm) mounting plate over the locking area provides a total thickness over the lock of 2″ (51 mm). Protection against drilling and burning is increased by the inclusion of a 1/2” (13mm) minimum slab of ‘Nichron’ Drill and Torch Resisting material over the entire door, which is thickened up to 1″ (25mm) to cover all locking and A.E.D. areas. The outer face of this additional D.T.R. material is pyramid -faced to give deflection to any drill attack. ‘Granocrete’ nuggets are also included in the door to give further drill protection. The total thickness of the door is 4 3/8” (112mm).

Boltwork
Both the moving bolts and fixed dog bolts are of 1 1/4″ dia. (32mm) EN3B steel, and lock securely into the inner lining. Up and Down moving bolts of 32mm dia. are also included.

Locking
The locking is provided by either the SMP S520 seven lever keylock or a 4 wheel key less Combination Lock, or multiple locking if required. The keylock has open ended, notched levers affording resistance to lock picking. The probe arms are severally positioned across the width of the lock bolt and it is not possible to remove the lock bolt stump by drilling a single small hole.

Anti-Explosive Devices
The safe is fitted with two randomly located explosive devices. Each of these are non-returnable once activated and permanently lock the boltwork. The live anti-explosive device works with the lock, and comes on guard each tine the safe is locked. The vital parts of this device are protected by strategically positioned inserts of Cobal-Arc 4 weld metal. The dead anti-explosive device is connected by stainless steel (multi-strand) wire to a special glass plate which, in the event of an attack by force drills, explosives or oxy-acetylene will shatter and release a spring loaded mechanism. Random A.E.D. positions are adopted both for the connections to the glass plate and also the mechanism which locks into the boltwork. The circuit of the stainless steel wire is also varied in each safe.

Thermal Device
A thermal link is included in the boltwork which in the event of the temperature in the lockcase reaching 155’F during an attack, the boltwork will become permanently locked.

Floor Anchoring
All safes have provision for anchoring to either wood or concrete floors.

Fittings
All safes can be supplied with removable shelves, adjustable at (12mm) pitch. A3″ lockable drawer is available for all safes. Rotary or drawer-type deposit features are available as optional extras.
